A commercial center inserted in an area of strong landscape value, but on the edge of the historic city. The building can be schematically divided into two volumes separated by a double-height gallery that characterizes the main entrances. The gallery’s coverage has been achieved through a steel structure that embraces the two different volumes of the supermarket and the gallery. The shopping center is composed of thirty-two stores. The double-height volume expands the space and creates a series of visual perspectives inside the gallery. Vertical connections are guaranteed by two stair-elevator cores, located near the main entrances. The parking spaces are concentrated in the two basement floors. The opaque parts of the building have been made with different finishes depending on the intended use of the spaces they enclose. The supermarket is clad in bi-chrome horizontal lapidary granite for the first time by perfecting prefabricated panels with a lava stone finish. The volumes of the shopping center, on the other hand, have artificial colors of strong impact and derived from the Mediterranean tradition: bright yellow, orange and blue.
